Some Issues on my Mac - ugotskoold - 04-09-2007

Hey guys, its been a while since I have messed around with this game. I just completly cleared all my old files from vdrift. I installed the new package. It works fine on road atlanta w/o an opponent. But when I add an opponent, it either quits unexpedictly, or frame rate drops to 5. Also 80% of the cars are messed up. i.e. all 1 color, no inside, texture problems. So, any ideas?

I get the colours problem with my machine as well (PPC G5 (2GHz x 2), ATI 9800, Mac OS X 10.4.9).

It _does_not_occur_ if Vdrift is the only GL app ever started during the machine's up time. If I start some other game like Redline or Skyfighters1945 and then after go into Vdrift without rebooting the colours are screwed up. It's been a long time problem (since the fall?). Haven't bothered to report it since there are other, bigger fish to fry.

i can't reproduce the messed up textures on an intel or G4 mac...
are you sure you got the mac package after it has been fixed? short way to verify is to look at the startupscreen- if it appears in red you need to get the fixed package.

i can reproduce the crash with the opponents, however since it seems to be an audio-problem and we already have a new sound engine in place for the next version i will rather spend my time fixing the new sound engine instead of the old one ;-)

I do have the fix, I just don't know what the problem is...

Does the problem go away when you switch to large texture size?

- ugotskoold - 04-14-2007

No they don't. I don't understand why it unexpectedly quits though...
