PLEASE HELP ME - ScOrPiO ZaiB - 04-06-2007

Hello Everyone .......... well i recently downloaded VDRIFT ..........the game installed perfectly but now its not running ........ also i have downloaded SDL_gfx.dll file but still its not working :? ........... when i click VDRIFT icon a screen appear and suddenly it goes ........

Please tell us:
* What version of VDrift? Full or minimal package?
* What operating system? If Windows, what version?
* What type of computer do you have, and have you played other OpenGL games on it? What kind of graphics card and what driver version?

Its the latest version of VDRIFT ....... Full Package ...... Intel P4 2.4 GHz , 256 MB Ram , Nvidia Geforce FX 5500 256 MB Graphic Card ....... Windows XP Professional SP2 version 2002 , and i havent played any game of OpenGL....

Alright, double check that you put the SDL_gfx.dll file in the right directory.

Some others have had a similar problem, and we have a new Windows build up for the minimal package only. If you try out that package, and find it works better, we can update the full installer too. So far we haven't gotten any confirmation that the new minimal package fixes the problem.

THANKS FOR the reply

I have double checked the SDL_gfx.dll file ......... i installed the minimum package its also giving the same problem ......... when i clicked the Vdrift icon
a screen appeared and then nothing happened and 2 text files appeared in the folder ...... in one txt file it was written that 0 joystick(s) found and the other txt file was empty ........

maybe its a direct x problem or my graphic card problem

Well, thanks for checking that out for us. I'm not sure what the problem is, but FFuser (who works on the Windows package) is looking for a solution. We think it may be related to the libraries being loaded, or not loaded, properly. I'll post here if there are updates, if you "Subscribe" to the thread then the forum will send you an email when there is an update. Thanks for reporting this and sorry for the problems...

This shouldn't happen in the new minimal release.
When did you download this minimal package? Today?

Oh and one other thing, you might try installing the .NET framework, for some reason that seems to fix some people's problems.

Now the game has started but i cant see the game clear its a graphics problem .......... everything is coming but its very blur and i can only see the
colours

Hmmm. This is odd. Maybe You should try updating your Drivers as well as deleting all the files you have downloaded so far and re downloading/ re installing the minimal package.

The screenshot above is what happens when the game can't find its textures. In this case it's menu and font textures, which are supposed to be in C:\Program Files\VDrift\data\skins\simple\fonts\ and C:\Program Files\VDrift\data\skins\simple\textures\. Could you check to see that there are files in these places?
