joepack append mode - alex25 - 11-28-2006
would it be possible to have an append mode for joepack? i looked at the source and it looks like it writes some kind of header at the beginning of the packed file based on the number of arguments passed to it. and i am not sure if one can change this later. the reason i am asking is that i am trying to pack some 9000 files which is more than what the shell expansion can handle. i tried using xargs but i ended up only with the second half of the files. i tried changind the fopen to append mode, but then i saw onl the first half (presumably because of that header). thanks.

Check out the latest SVN for joepack. I added a -cf mode where you give it an argument for a text file that just has your list of 9000 files inside it. That is, if filelist.txt is your text file with 9000 lines, you'd do ./joepack -cf output.jpg filelist.txt
Give it a shot.

worked like a charm. so basically i am working on a gpl (that is grand prix legends) track conversion, most of it is there but there are some objects missing and some texture problems. the track in question is brno'65, a really nice road circuit, very detailed. you can look at the gpl version at http://gplmz.bcsims.com/sub/sergio/brno65/. we'll probably need to get permission from the authors before we can included it with vdrift, so if anybody has any ideas how to go about doing this let me know.
