Hi
First off, my system specs:
Processor - Intel P4 3.00GHz
RAM - 1024MB RAM
Video Card - GeForce6600 256MB
OS - Windows SP2
I installed the Windows version of VDrift (vdrift-setup2006-02-21.exe) from Sourceforge. It asked for OpelAL32.dll, which I downloaded from a link in the forums.
The problem I'm having is that when I run VDrift.exe, the program's window opens, but it does absolutely nothing. It goes on staring back at me unless I get tired of waiting and close it, which is usually after 2-3 mins (I don't have the patience to wait longer, I'm sure the program will win)
I looked into the log files and the only one which says anything is the file "utility.txt". What is says is this:

I then searched for the data folder, but couldn't find it.
I have tried to be as precise as possible; hope that it's enough info. The problem itself is simple to me; apparently, the data folder is missing, but what I do not understand is how that's possible as I just installed the software.

Umm...I found a solution in the forums after all. Seems theres a problem with the Windows installer, which does not put all the folders in the VDrift\data\ folder by itself.
The solution is to create a VDrift\data\ folder and paste all other folders (yes, folders only) into the new data\ folder. The game ran fine for me, except that I'm having a bit of trouble configuring the controls....

a new version is coming soon, where assigning controls changed, so probably it works better than.
the data problem + .dll problem are fixed too
