Track im/exporter update - NaN - 04-07-2011 New track import/export work flow: 1. Import your track from 3ds/obj into blender. 2. Export it as jpk. Only textured meshes will be exported. A default list.txt will be generated. 3. Import jpk into Blender. the objects will be assigned to groups according to their properties. 4. Modify the groups of the selected object ctrl+g. If an object belongs to multiple surface groups the first surface is used. 4.1 If required create additional surface groups "surface-[0-9]". You will have to extend the surfaces.txt of course(is not created automatically atm). 5. Export jpk. The group settings will override object properties. - NaN - 04-07-2011 Just found out that the groups can also be accessed in the object panel, he he. - alex25 - 04-07-2011 very good job! quick question: how do i select a group so it can highlight all the objects belonging to it (so i could ascertain if a given object should or should not belong to that particular group)? thanks. --alex-- - NaN - 04-07-2011 Select->Grouped->Objects in the same Group Shift+G, 7 - alex25 - 04-07-2011 thanks. and how do i un-select a group? --alex-- - NaN - 04-07-2011 Select All/Deselect is A. - alex25 - 04-07-2011 you would think so, but everything stayed green. i'll figure it out eventually. anyway, this will really help with the track editing. thanks. --alex-- - alex25 - 04-07-2011 nevermind, looks like the colours changed. instead of getting black and pink now we get dark green/light green. i think i liked the old colours better though. --alex-- - NaN - 04-07-2011 That's is some blender internal stuff. As soon as you link an object to a group it changes the coloring to green. - Mekala - 04-19-2011 after Exporting jpk , then???????????????? :o :o :o :o :o :o :o - asasinuxp - 04-19-2011 Set objects properties, the .jpk need have name objects.jpk. - NaN - 04-19-2011 Try to load it into the track-editor(latest version). If loading fails look for a stderr.txt and stdout.txt. If there is no track.txt the editor will set the first start position to 0,0,0. Delete it with K. Create some start positions by moving the camera and pressing L to use current camera position as start position. Save the track by pressing S. Import your objects.jpk into blender. Select objects(Shift-RMB) you want the car to collide with/drive on and add them to the collidables group(Ctrl+G). Copy a surfaces.txt from one of the tracks. Create additional surface groups in blender surface-1, surface-2 (I will update the script to do this automatically). Assign track objects to surface groups. |
