Configuring joystick HELP! - Audi5zylinder - 09-29-2010
Hi, I have two versions of vdrift on my IMac. The first one is the minimal one and I use my logitech joystick with no problem. left goes left etc. But I installed the 155 MB version of VDrift and my joystick kind of works but it turns when I twist the stick instead of lean it. This is very annoying and last time I tried, it only turned left. How do I make it work the way my other version does? The graphics look so much better on the newer on but its un-drive-able. HELP SOON PLEASE !!!!!!!!

The joystick twist axis should be different than the joystick lean axis, and you can assign axes to controls in the Options->Controls->Assign Controls->Car Controls menu. If you click on the + next to "steer left" and then lean your joystick, it should reassign that control to the leaning axis.

That's what I do, it doesn't work, actually I got it to work once, but that's it. Also a lot of the tracks load but then its a black screen but the car eves but no car in sight. Are there bugs in this one or what?

Audi5zylinder, try to find a joystick test application that will show you what all your axes are doing graphically. I bet what is happening is that when the lean axis is being moved the twist axis is also moving some, and that VDrift is picking it up because maybe twist is a more sensitive axis than lean.
