I'm having a major problem with speedometers. I just can't get them to show up. Any help?

The older HUD with the circular speedos aren't in the latest releases, although we've been wanting to bring them back in some fashion.

Also, is there any way to get skins working? I can see the x1 skin in the data, but I can't select it in the menu.

The x1 skin is out of date so it's disabled. If you want you can manually change the skin by editing your VDrift.config file (change skin=simple to skin=x1) but VDrift won't start due to missing textures. You can check the log and see what files are missing and copy them to x1 from simple.
