Hello Vdrifters,
I am really enjoy with playing with this great driving simlation.
But I have some few issue with my configuration. I have tried to manage them by my self, but I can't solve them.
I have compile the version vdrift-2009-02-15 on Ubuntu 8.04.
Issue 1:
The first issue is the "wind" sound effect. The wind level increase when the car goes faster. But very quikly, the sound level is saturated.
To solve this issue, I have create a 3 seconds empty sound track file into "data/sounds/wind.ogg".
If some one have a better idea, I am aware about it.
Issue 2:
The second issue, is the skin. I can't choose the x1 skins although I have ckecked out the last data resources from vdrift svn.
Issue 3:
When I am playing, the motor RPM and the speed value is displayed with a pogress bar. But when I watch screen copy, I see some biewtifull speed counters (whites cercles with reed needle) Perhaps it is links with the skins ?
Issue 4:
How can I activate the network gaming features ?
It makes lots of issues, I would be very happy, if someone could provide me some help.

The game was completely rewritten since the last release so a lot has changed.

So it's just louder than you want, or it's so loud it's causing distortion?

The X1 skins haven't been updated for the latest release, so they're disabled.

Those are the old graphics; I think the new ones look a lot better and take up less room. :-)

There was a very simple multiplayer mode in an old release, but it went away and hasn't been re-written yet, so that's why it's not on the menu or anything.

First of all, thanks for your help.
Regarding the "wind" effect, the sound is so lound that there are some distortion.
I can't see any menu, where i could set the the sound level for motor, music, sound effect.

In options->sound there's a sound effect volume setting. Does lowering that solve the distortion issue?
