Drifting/Driving Troubles - joedidyjoe - 02-02-2009
I am new to this game. I found, that my counter steering is limited, this means i cant get any drifting going on. It also does this while moving at all. How do i stop this?

Make sure you turn off "speed affect on steering" in Options->Controls.

What control are you using? Keyboard controls are very limited - imagine replacing your car's pedals and steering wheel with four switches. You can at least use your mouse to get an analog driving control and should really try to find a gamepad or some other joystick device to use.
If you must use the keyboard, try changing the "Button Control Delay" option under Options -> Controls.
Also, turning on the option "Display Input Graph" under Options -> Display will give you a better idea of what is happening with your gas/brake/steering when you drive the car.

I use a steering wheel =/
With the graph on, i see when i go over 15 mph, the little ball goes towards the middle more, even though i am on full turning.

Ah, make sure you have 200 degree wheel mode turned off in options->controls->joystick options. All that does is crank down the steering gain (except at low speeds, where it cranks it back up), and if you're trying to countersteer you don't want that. In fact, I don't even know if that option is really that useful to anyone anymore, since it's kind of just speed sensitive steering combined with a gain adjustment, and doesn't even really help you grip drive much either. It's a setting I put in there before I actually got a wheel.
