I'm not sure what I want to do. I think I'll think about it for a while, and review the code a little, and try to learn a little more about singletons. If I do decide to use them, at least better to understand them completely first...I'll keep all this in the code-cleanup branch though.

Wine, then where was rewind, then there is the code weavers wine, and trangaming's wine. And if they had all worked together it would be running directX 10, before microsoft.

May be a bad example.
Would it just stay vdrift?

I'm not talking about forking the whole project off into something else. I'm talking about setting up a separate code branch to work on without breaking the trunk. We have used several branches in the past to do heavy work on the source without disrupting everything else: http://svn.vdrift.net/viewvc.py/branches/
