They had an older sportscar called the S600 that was RWD. Other than that, all their consumer cars, Preludes included, are FWD. - thelusiv - 08-24-2006 QNev Wrote:Maybe 91 and 96 Honda Preludes tooAll Honda cars are FWD, except for the S2000 and NSX. Also, the Saturn Sky is based on the Pontiac Solstice. The Saturn Sky Red Line is the equivalent of the Pontiac Solstice GXP. The Pontiac Solstice GXP has the 260 HP and 260 Lb torque turbo charged Ecotec 4 cylinder engine. It's capable of going around 145 MPH. - thelusiv - 10-29-2006 I know the Sky and Solstice are the same car, I just like the way the Sky looks better. ![]() - reece146 - 10-30-2006 At the expense of cross posting, cars and tracks I would love to see: reece146 Wrote:In no particular order: - cotharyus - 10-30-2006 RJARRRPCGP Wrote:Some corrections: Actually, the Sky and Solstice are both based on an opal design. - thelusiv - 10-30-2006 I'd just like to take the opportunity here, since everyone's requesting cars, to mention the fact that nobody is working on cars for VDrift right now. For quite a while dmaurer aka kcid was doing it, but I haven't heard from him in quite a while - he hasn't gotten on IRC or the site, nor has he answered any of my emails. So for all of you wishing to drive this car or that in VDrift, we need someone to step up to the plate and start helping take care of the cars. I can't keep up with all the cars as well as code...there's just not enough time. Joe and I have a little time between coding to tweak a car or two, from time to time, but right now there are simply too many for us to manage all of them, and there's no way we'll have time to add new ones at this rate. Lots of people have started threads in the past few months saying they'll make cars, some even posting very nice screen shots, but we haven't seen any (since dmaurer's) come to fruition. There are some really nice models out there, that just need to be found or converted. I hope somebody decides to do this soon...otherwise we probably won't see many new cars in the game for a while. - reece146 - 10-31-2006 Well, I can take a swipe at it but having never done any 3d graphics my output will probably suck. ![]() I can do the tuning part no problem, the skinning too likely, its the 3D model that gives me grief. Is there a way to import racer models into vdrift? I thought I saw something about it but haven't been able to locate the resource again. - kcid - 10-31-2006 thelusiv, still here ![]() Cheers, Dick - thelusiv - 10-31-2006 kcid Wrote:thelusiv, still hereOh there you are! I was starting to worry about you! ![]() Also I noticed you had a Supra in vdrift-art...that would be nice too. I can understand if you have a lot of work to do though, so no big rush... - cotharyus - 10-31-2006 I was looking at blender, but it won't start on my FreeBSD box currently ( getting a segfault, and ports are under freeze for 6.2 release, so I'm stuck right now ) and I'm not sure how good I'd be with the graphics stuff anyhow. I'd love to work *with* people on cars, but I have never been much of an artist of any sort. - reece146 - 10-31-2006 cotharyus Wrote:I was looking at blender, but it won't start on my FreeBSD box currently ( getting a segfault, and ports are under freeze for 6.2 release, so I'm stuck right now ) and I'm not sure how good I'd be with the graphics stuff anyhow. Worst case I'll run it off one of the Linux servers. - reece146 - 10-31-2006 cotharyus Wrote:I was looking at blender, but it won't start on my FreeBSD box currently ( getting a segfault, and ports are under freeze for 6.2 release, so I'm stuck right now ) Hey, which version of python do you have installed? Does it match the version of blender that you have downloaded (noticed the FreeBSD only has one d/l link). I downloaded the correct version for python on the system and I'm up and running. HTH |
