- nael - 06-02-2006 Same thing happens with SDL 1.2.9. - no difference Anymore ideas? I need it to work from the source because I am working on running this inside cockpit on a simulation motion base. I need the source to add a few things to make it work with the rest of the system. Quote:Can you also post an excerpt of your ~/.vdrift/logs/*.log files? Code: utility.log:The rest are empty. Thanks again. - thelusiv - 06-02-2006 Hmmm, what version of SDL_image do you have? This is the library that really handles the textures anyway. I am using 1.2.4 on Debian, 1.2.5 is the latest. - nael - 06-02-2006 I also noticed some files fail to load, while others are not found. Code: error loading texture file "gui/widgets/btn_down.png"...- nael - 06-02-2006 Quote:Hmmm, what version of SDL_image do you have?1.2.5 - thelusiv - 06-02-2006 I can't see anything in the SDL_image 1.2.5 changelog that should mess anything up. But, it's possible there was something that indirectly affected us for some reason...so it wouldn't hurt to try 1.2.4. I'll be trying these all out soon, once I install Ubuntu Dapper, which may be done by this weekend. The engine.wav file not loading is a whole different problem. - nael - 06-02-2006 related to openal/freealut? its funny that everything works fine if I just install the slack pkg. - nael - 06-02-2006 yup! its working now. I can finally play it. More problems though: Code: Cannot find sound file /usr/share/games/vdrift/cars/XS/engine.wavI have the latest versions of freealut and openAl, which ones are you running? I suggest you put up the versions of the dependencies that vdrift was tested with in your next release. Also, I think vamos crashed on me when I collided: Code: Detected NaN in elevationThanks for the tip on SDL. - thelusiv - 06-02-2006 I'm running OpenAL "1:0.0.8" (I'm not sure what that means really, I just got the Debian testing packages available from apt). openal-config --version reports 0.0.8. I have libalut 1.0.1 (I believe libalut == freealut?) I don't have any problems loading tire squeals, but some of the engine.wav files will not load for me, not sure why. However, the XS's engine.wav should work. So should the CS, GT, TL and XM. The rest probably not. As for the crash with all the NaN stuff, that's a known bug in the way some collisions are handled. Hopefully we'll find a fix for that soon. |
