There are parts of the Road Atlanta scenery that should have water on them. I could work it into the texture but I think it might look better if it was another semitransparent texture sitting flat on top of the non-flat terrain. I think the easiest way to add this, would just be to have one tileable texture for water, and a black/white png with black for the sections with water. In the track parameters file there could be a water elevation and that height would be used for all the bodies of water wherever they were on the map.

I was thinking about this more today, it would be best if we could feather the edge of the water in the mask and that would give the alpha of the water near the edges. that way the water is clear near the sides where it's shallow, and the track author can control how shallow different parts of the pool appear. The water portion would then just be tiled with a texture. It should be slightly reflective unlike the rest of the ground...
