that makes it accept the password but i get Permission denied for writing files to the target folder (/home/frs/project/v/vd/vdrift/vdrift/vdrift-2010-06-30/)
Doh. I probably need to get the permissions set up. What's your sourceforge username?
thats the weird thing, i already have permissions, i have always posted the mac build to sf. and it worked also this time, except the upload being interrupted.
still noone has tested the build?

"noone" tested the build! ;-)
I didn´t find errors (after programm start for a moment the window background is filled with a disturbing gray pattern until the startscreen appears.).

The problems are in the programm logic...

huh?

Look at „physics glitch“: http://vdrift.net/Forum/viewtopic.php?t=1272
It´s simple to get a "flying" car and - flying or gliding over the ground, without rolling wheels on the ground - it doesn´t loose or does increase energy!
but these issues exist also in the linux/win version so they aren't of concern...

i mainly want to know if you can successfully start a race and drive around or it crashes or has some other glaring problems that prevent a release....

if not, joe could you download the file and post it to the release section?
@cologne
You mean you have the same issues as with the vdrift-2009-15-06 release?

I've tried "Road Atlanta: downhill before Start" with F1-02(game r2582/data r685). I have not been able to trigger the flying/gliding behaviour. Can you post some more info. I'd like to be able to reproduce it.
^ i've actually experienced a similar bug since the physics rewrite. it was on svn about a week ago. can't remember the car or track it happened to, but i know it was in a wide open space on asphalt. i was going about 30 kmh slightly down hill. the car flew up about 3 car lengths in the air and came down on it's nose.

this is the only major physics glitch i've seen since the physics rewrite has calmed down. and it only happened once. Tongue
First: In vdrift-2009-15-06 fast downhill "Road Atlanta: downhill before Start" or nuerburgring fast downhill at Wippermann an some other of the track the car flys suddenly. In the actual release the F1 is very instable, so i couldn´t really test this issue.
Second: when the car isn´t in normal position with rolling wheels on the ground, the cars energy doesn´t decrease or doesn´t decrease slowly. By example: the car slides hundreds of meters lying on its side or it´s completely unrealistic, that a car flys more than maximum 10 meters over the track. There is something wrong in your programm logic.

@abs1nth: Your Mac-Version had no errors!

edit: sorry, used the wrong word "increase"; changed to "decrease"
So it's about the 2009 release. There is not much one can do to fix it. Try the latest release.

Quote:F1 is very instable
Can you be more specific. I havent played the 2009-15-06 release for a long time (maybe I should).
