dude, we are talking here about an original track converted with the permission of the author. there is no copyright violation. the only question was one of licences which your post fails spectacularly to address. what exactly is your imaginary problem now?
at the same time, nobody is stopping you from contacting tantra yourself and asking him to release the track under some open source licence. that is, if you want to be useful.

alex: I asked the free software foundation (FSF) about licenses for artwork and they recommended the following:

Of those, wikipedia says that they like the "Free Art License" the best:

What do you guys mean with tracing the Indian Hills track?
I can build some scenery round the track.
Cotharyus: do you want scenery like VIR? Or with a mountain etc?
Joe is it possible for you to trace the track or tell me how to do it?

kcid - I was thinking something like VIR scenery for the track, yes, sort of through some fields with some trees here and there, nothing overly complex.

If you want to give it a shot, I put all of the blend files I made in the vdrift-art repository under tracks. Some of the later blend files were random ideas that didn't turn out very well. I had too much trouble trying to make the scenery flow into the road seamlessly.
Anyway, if you just work in blender and make some nice scenery and stuff around the track, I can take care of getting it into VDrift.

Which blend file is the most up to date one, so which one should I work with? Is indianhill9-export.blend the correct one?

Use indianhill25.blend and delete the landscape I tried to put in there. For the track, if you apply the modifiers the track objects will become real meshes.
